Down at the Candy Shoppe (For iwillcatchup)

As a herald to the king, Azazael often wandered the Nexus to learn the locations so he could better perform his duties. There were some empty buildings at the far end of the plaza, or they had been. Now three of the store fronts had an enormous colorful banner across the front "Grand Opening".

At first he was disinterested but then he saw the vinyl words in the window.. MULTIVERSE CANDY SHOPPE. Azazael flew to the window and pressed his face to it, eyes wide as saucers. It was a grocery store sized shop with rows, miles of shelves of candy and sweets. The angel was frozen in place gawking for a time he couldn't even imagine; short, long, who knew.

It takes time to pull himself free of staring and remember he could go in and buy candy. CANDY! And inside he goes, picking up a basket and beginning to wander like a lost soul in the aisle. Could he carry one of everything? It didn't seem likely. There was too much to choose from. What was he going to do without any hint of direction?

The new candy store also attracts another to its location. Peter was on his daily run, when he did a hard stop at the sight of the banner.

It had been so long so he had any proper Twinkies, that he immediately headed inside to see if this place would have them in stock.

He already had a basket full of his precious dessert, when he spots Azazael in the aisle. With a quick step, he is beside the Angel with a smile.

"Hey! Great minds think a like!"

He had found a lollipop, swirled and rolled flat. It was beautiful, and giant compared to the short stature angel. Peter startles Azazael who is staring at the lollipop wondering how long it would take to eat. His wide eyes turn from the candy to Peter beside him, his eyes get even wider as he blushes. He remembers the kiss a the villa and feels like he wants to be smaller some how.

"Peter!" He's both happy and incredibly nervous. Though he uses the basket as an excuse to look away. "That's a pile of Twinkies. "

A moment passes and then his instinct subdues his nervousness enough that he gives Peter a hug.

"They are my favorite snack... on the go." Peter grins. He is a little surprised by the hug, since he didn't expect to be greeted as such. And lingers his hand on the back of Azazael's for a moment longer, in returning the hug.

"You found yourself a huge lollipop. Perfect for licking."

[azazael]

"I prefer zebra cakes."

Azazael isn't as embarrassed as he was at the party, partially because he was the one hugging and prepared.

"I wonder where you'd put it when you weren't licking it so it didn't get dirty." He's taken to looking at the giant lollipop and pretty oblivious about how what he's saying sounds.

Peter smirked mostly at himself at what Azazael said, knowing full well that the Angel has no clues to how naughty it could sound to others.

"Don't Angels have their own Hammerspace or something equivalent?"

[azazael]

"Sort of." He turns away from the candy for now, maybe he'll get one later. "It's not as convenient because it isn't a 'pocket'"

Peter decides to keep step with Azazael. Glancing at the other stuff on the aisles.

"You could use your PINpoint as a little mini portal. Keep the lolly somewhere safe then."

[azazael]

"Maybe." The angel isn't sold on it yet but his eyes do get wide at the whole aisle of containers filled with different flavors of jellybeans.

"Do you like jelly beans?" This is exciting and with all the different dispensers, a huge bag with all, however many flavors, mixed together had an appeal but for eating and aesthetics.

Peter is enjoying this right now. Just watching Azazael's reactions to the different candy. And how big his eyes get.

"I could eat an whole aisles-worth at times. They are super easy to carry."

[azazael]

"How would we carry all of them?" Azazael considers. "Do you think all of these would fit in a wine cask?"

Lucifer wouldn't mind would he? If they filled one of his empty wine barrels with jellybeans.

"Why not. As long as we can pay for it. I have zipped back and forth armfuls of the twinkies before."

[azazael]

"I've got a credit card!" Which is probably the worst idea, but who can stop it?

"We should go ask!" He's already walking up to the cashier near the front, but it takes a long time because every bright colored candy seems to stop him along the way.

Honestly, having a credit card is a lot better than how Peter used to do the five-finger-discount using his abilities. He doesn't know who is responsible for the charges... but figures one of the Angels could likely handle it.

He can't help smirking at how Azazael keeps getting distracted by candy along the way. And finally after watching him stop again, Peter steps close, and takes the Angel's hand with a bright smile. "Better to buy when we know if the store has a limit."

[azazael]

Azazael freezes to stare at the hand in his and then blushes furiously. All he can think about is that kiss because people, outside of his brothers and sisters anyway, rarely came into contact with him. The kiss he could write off as a dare, but this...

Wait something was said. He's totally distracted and confused. "What?"

Peter notices the brief moment it takes for Azazael freeze and stare at Peter's hand. And he smiles at that blush that appears.

"Or we could just go for tea and cake. They have a dessert offering here."

[azazael]

"Dessert?" The angel's slowly coming around and then lights up with a smile. The hand is forgotten even though he hasn't let go. "Are the brownies good?"

Peter leans closer to Azazael as he leads the Angel to where the dessert cafe is. And gets them a table where he can sit right beside the other man. And still hold his hand.

"Get anything you want. I have credit here."
